Carbon Steel ASME SA 519 Grade MT 1010 tubing is a low-carbon steel alloy that contains about 0.08–0.13% carbon and 0.30–0.60% manganese, along with small amounts of elements like phosphorus and sulfur. This alloy boasts excellent ductility, weldability, and machinability, making it perfect for cold-forming processes. Its mechanical properties typically include a tensile strength ranging from 330–450 MPa, a yield strength of around 180–250 MPa, and an elongation of over 30%, depending on how it’s processed. While the low carbon content means the tubing isn’t suitable for heat treatment to boost strength, it still performs exceptionally well in forming, bending, and light structural applications.
