What is Low Temperature Carbon Steel LF3 Flanges?

ASTM A350 LF3 Flanges consist of Carbon (≤0.20%), Manganese (≤0.90%), Phosphorus (≤0.035%), Sulfur (≤0.040%), Silicon (0.20–0.35%), Nickel (3.30–3.70%), and Chromium (≤0.30%), Molybdenum (≤0.12%), Copper (≤0.40%), Niobium (≤0.02%), and Vanadium (≤0.03%). These flanges have a tensile strength of 485–655 MPa, yield strength ≥260 MPa, elongation ≥22%, reduction of area ≥35%, and a hardness of maximum 197 HB. Heat-treated to be tougher and develop better microstructure, they are designed for better impact resistance and structural properties in cryogenic conditions.
