EN-1A Carbon Steel In addition to trace amounts of silicon, sulphur, and phosphorus, bars normally contain 0.15–0.20% carbon and 0.30–0.60% manganese. This low-carbon steel has a good elongation of 20–25% and a moderate tensile strength of 370–500 MPa.
