EN 10149-2 S420MC steel is a high-strength low-alloy (HSLA) steel possessing fine cold-forming qualities. It has carbon (≤0.12%), manganese (≤1.6%), phosphorus (≤0.025%), sulfur (≤0.015%), and niobium, titanium, or vanadium for improved strength and grain refinement. The steel provides a minimum yield point of 420 MPa, tensile strength of 480–620 MPa, and elongation ≥19%, with thickness variation. It is suited for structural uses demanding strength and lightness by virtue of these mechanical properties.
