ASTM A204 Grade B Plates and Sheets consist of molybdenum-alloyed steel, which makes them more resistant to high-temperature applications, corrosion, and mechanical stress. Their chemical makeup contains Carbon (max 0.23%), Manganese (0.90–1.50%), Silicon (0.13–0.45%), Phosphorus (max 0.035%), Sulfur (max 0.035%), and Molybdenum (0.45–0.60%). Mechanically, they have a minimum tensile strength of 515 MPa, a yield strength of 280 MPa, and an elongation of 22%. Such properties make them suitable for high-stress conditions, providing strong performance, structural stability, and good weldability in pressure-carrying and heat-intensive industrial processes.
