A minimum of 0.01% aluminum, 1.50% manganese, 0.40% silicon, 0.055% phosphorus, 0.055% sulfur, and a maximum of 0.25% carbon make up its chemical makeup. Mechanically, it offers an impact toughness of 35 Joules at 0°C, a tensile strength of 540–660 MPa, and 20% elongation.
