HB 450 steel plates are made from a low-alloyed steel matrix with carbon levels between 0.26% and 0.40%. The major alloying components are manganese up to 1.60%, silicon up to 0.60%, chromium up to 1.40%, nickel up to 1.50%, and molybdenum up to 0.60%, which combined increase hardness and resistance to wear. Mechanically, these plates have a Brinell hardness of 425–475 HBW, yield strength of about 1240 MPa, and elongation of about 10%. These harmonious properties allow the HB 450 plates to operate consistently under high-impact, abrasion-heavy conditions.
