Abrazo 450 is made from a specially formulated low-alloy steel that contains carbon, manganese, chromium, nickel, and molybdenum. This mix gives it optimized strength and hardness while keeping impact toughness intact. It has a typical yield strength of ≥ 1150 MPa, a tensile strength of around 1250 MPa, and an elongation of 10–12%. Charpy V-notch impact values generally exceed 30 ft-lb at –20 °C. The high hardness (~450 HBW) guarantees excellent wear resistance. Despite its hardness, Abrazo 450 remains easy to weld with standard welding consumables because of careful control over carbon equivalent and heat-affected zone toughness.
