What is Alloy Steel T2 Tubing?

T2 Tubing comprises 0.15–0.30% carbon, 0.30–0.80% manganese, and 0.44–0.65% molybdenum. It provides tensile strength between 485–620 MPa and a minimum yield strength of 275 MPa. The creep strength is enhanced by molybdenum, tensile and structural properties being enhanced by carbon and manganese. T2 is heat-treated (generally normalized) for better ductility, grain refinement, and pressure resistance. The tubing has excellent dimensional stability and resistance to oxidation in long-term high-temperature exposure. T2strong mechanical profile qualifies it for pressurized systems with thermal variation.
