ABREX 500 Plates consist of abrasion-resistant alloy steel, containing mostly carbon, manganese, chromium, and nickel. These alloying additives impart the plates with a hardness of approximately 500 HBW, yield strength of about 1000 MPa, and tensile strength between 1350 and 1600 MPa. The plates undergo controlled heat treatments that improve their toughness and structural integrity. Even though they are extremely hard, ABREX 500 Plates maintain excellent weldability and formability, and hence are perfectly fine to fabricate for heavy-duty applications involving wear and impact resistance.
