ABS AH36 is low-alloy, high-strength steel with about 0.18–0.21% Carbon, 0.5–0.6% Manganese, and minute levels of Silicon and Sulfur. Its yield strength is ≥355 MPa and tensile strength varies from 490–620 MPa. It has superior notch toughness and weldability and can be used for high-stress applications. Its strong properties are not lost even in sub-zero temperatures, which is a necessity for marine activities. This grade is hot-rolled, normalized, or thermomechanically rolled to provide even strength and hardness.
