What is ABS EH36 Shipbuilding Steel Sheet and Plates?

ABS EH36 is an improved variant of AH36 with improved toughness. It contains ~0.18–0.22% Carbon, ~0.5–0.6% Manganese, and microalloying constituents such as Niobium or Vanadium. It possesses a yield strength of ≥355 MPa and tensile strength of 490–620 MPa. EH36 is specially formulated to maintain impact strength at subzero temperatures (-40°C) and is applicable for arctic use. It is supplied in normalized or thermomechanically rolled conditions for optimal structural performance.
