Grade B7M alloy steel has ~0.40% carbon, chromium (~0.75–1.20%), and molybdenum (~0.15–0.25%). The washers are quenched and tempered to achieve minimum tensile strength of 860 MPa and optimized for better ductility and toughness. B7M grade washers find their way into zinc-plated or PTFE-coated versions often.
