Alloy Steel P22 Pipes carry Chromium (1.9–2.6%), Molybdenum (0.87–1.13%), Carbon (max 0.15%), Manganese (0.30–0.60%), and Silicon (0.50–1.00%). These pipes are normalized and tempered for superior strength and heat resistance. Some of the mechanical properties are a minimum of 415 MPa tensile strength and yield strength of 205 MPa with 30% elongation. P22 pipes also exhibit superior resistance to high-temperature corrosion and stress rupture. The material has gained widespread acceptance due to its reliable performance under thermal cycling and extended service at higher pressures.

Alloy Steel P22 Pipes find extensive application in steam boilers, heat exchangers, and high-pressure piping systems of thermal power plants and refineries.
