The 9% chromium and 1% molybdenum composition of P9 pipes provides them with high heat and oxidation resistance. P9 pipes provide a tensile strength of 415–620 MPa and minimum yield strength of 205 MPa. P9 pipes are heat-treated to provide maximum creep resistance, structural stability, and corrosion resistance. Their chemical composition also provides them with increased durability in cyclic thermal and mechanical stresses.
