ASTM A572 Gr 50 Plates and Sheets consist of a low-alloy steel composition that contains carbon (maximum 0.23%), manganese (maximum 1.35%), phosphorus (maximum 0.04%), sulfur (maximum 0.05%), silicon (maximum 0.40%), and columbium-vanadium for added strength. These plates provide a minimum yield strength of 345 MPa and tensile strength ranging between 450–620 MPa.
