Nitrogen and manganese are added to carbon steel F70 forged fittings, which normally contain enhanced alloying elements for strength and corrosion resistance, such as 20–22% chromium, 6–8% nickel, 2–3% molybdenum, and 0.03% maximum carbon. High yield strength (minimum 570 MPa), tensile strength (minimum 795 MPa), and good ductility with elongation of about 25% are all provided by this duplex stainless composition. Excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking, pitting, and crevice corrosion caused by chloride is demonstrated by F70 forged fittings. They are perfect for settings needing exceptional mechanical strength and corrosion resistance because they are supplied in solution-annealed and quenched conditions.
