EN 9 Sheet and Plates, often referred to as 070M55, are medium carbon steels that contain around 0.50–0.60% carbon and 0.60–1.00% manganese. This composition gives them a notable edge in strength and hardness compared to low carbon steels. Typically, these plates boast a tensile strength ranging from 550–700 MPa and a yield strength of about 300 MPa.
