Rockstar 450 is a high-strength abrasion-resistant steel produced using a quench-and-temper process. It has a hardness range of 425–475 BHN and a chemical balance, consisting of carbon (≤ 0.30%), manganese (1.60%), silicon (≤ 0.70%), chromium (≤ 1.00%), nickel (≤ 0.60%), molybdenum (≤ 0.60%), boron (≤ 0.004%), phosphorus (≤ 0.025%), and sulfur (≤ 0.010%), with a carbon equivalent (CE) of up to 0.65%. Mechanical characteristics are yield strength of 1150 MPa, tensile strength of 1350 MPa, elongation of 12%, and impact toughness of 30 J at -20°C, assuring toughness in harsh environments.
