SA 516 GR.70N NACE HIC Plates are manufactured from high-quality carbon steel and contain major elements such as carbon, manganese, phosphorus, sulfur, and silicon. The plates are normalized and further treated with HIC-resistant material to make them appropriate for sour service conditions. These plates have strict NACE MR0175 requirements, providing a minimum yield strength of 260 MPa and tensile strength of 485–620 MPa. Their superior notch toughness and well-documented resistance to hydrogen sulfide (H₂S) environments provide high margins of safety in harsh pressure vessel applications even in aggressive operating conditions common in the oil and gas sector.
